WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
From 1968 to 1970 I did two tours of duty with the Army in Viet Nam. During my time, I served near Saigon and near the Cambodian border. Upon my return to the USA I decided I wanted to serve my city, so in 1971 I joined the Chicago Police Department and served for 39 years and 9 months. Since retirement, I’ve been serving in a part-time security protection role for one of the Chicago City Colleges. I just cannot stop serving! I am affectionately called "Sparky" by my wife and family because of my sparkling personality.
It’s my honor to give a shout out to Heroes Helping Heroes and the great work being done for veterans there. I commend this organization with great affection saying, "God Bless H3 Heroes 4 Life!"
Military heroes are ordinary people who step up and step out on the faith that service to their country will make a difference. Some returning heroes do not have the support they need. That's why I support Heroes Helping Heroes. They are the folks who understand what veterans have gone through and have stepped up once again to help their fellow service people. As a civilian I am very grateful for those whose sacrifice has helped to keep me and my family safe. The least I can do is to help by supporting them through my donation to HHH who know how to serve heroes best.
Happy that I finished the 125th Boston Marathon today! This was my 2nd Boston Marathon, and I was pleased with my result! More importantly, this year I ran for a special cause! H3 (or Heroes Helping Heroes) is an outstanding organization that is geared towards helping homeless Veterans regain their dignity and help to get them off the street and back to contributing to society. Shoutout to my San Diego family! Mark George and Margie, you guys are incredible!
